Directions

Rockland is a leisurely two hours up Route 1 from Portland and about four hours northeast of Boston.

From Boston, Mass., (189 miles): Take I-95 into the State of Maine. Follow I-95 north to I-295 (Exit 44), South Portland.

From Portland, (82 miles): Take I-295 North to Exit 28, which is U.S. Route 1 North (Coastal Route) at Brunswick. Follow U.S. Route 1 to Thomaston. Rockland is four miles farther north on Coastal Route 1. Downtown Rockland traffic is one-way on U.S. Route 1 North/Main Street (a left turn off Park onto Main Street at the light). Continue straight through the traffic light at Tillson Avenue, past the entrance of School Street on your left, then we're about 150 ft. up on your left.

Alternate route, from points south (Coastal U.S. Route 1 bypass): Many visitors use this route to bypass the heavy summer traffic on U.S. Route 1: Take I-95 to Exit 109 (Augusta) and follow Route 17 East into the City of Rockland. Turn right at North Main Street/Rt. 17 and straight through the light at Broadway, then right again after the Brown Bag onto Rankin Street. From here, follow directions from Camden and points north, below.

From Camden, Bar Harbor and other points north: Follow Route 1 South into the City of Rockland, passing the Brown Bag (on your right). Take the immediate one-way street rounding left (Union Street/Route 1 South). The most direct route from here is a left on School Street, then a left on Route 1 North (we're about 150 ft. up on the left).
